Homosassa Springs

Homosassa Springs is an incorporated community in Citrus County. It's known for its famous State Park and access to the Gulf of Mexico, golfing, and various natural attractions in the area.

 

Due to the Increase development in The Area, Citrus County rezoned the Cardinal St. corridor for light industrial and commercial mixed-use.

Cardinal Street Corridor

Currently, being affected by the growing community and also by the access to and from the Suncoast Parkway and Rd. 19. In 2021, an exit was built from the Suncoast Parkway to Cardinal Street Corridor exit 60 in Homosassa. 

 

A half mile west of the exit, Lennar Homes got approved at the end of 2020 to have site approval for a site plan to build 425 homes on 125 acres. Also, in the county, there is work in the process for the extension of the roads, utilities, water, and sewer coming to the Suncoast Parkway and Route 19.

 

Due to the increased demand in this area, the county decided to make a commercial and industrial area rezoned next to the exit.
